Pesquisas relacionas aos solos em ambientes de veredas vêm ganhando mais espaço, visto que os aspectos biológicos, como tipo de vegetação associada, sempre tiveram maior ênfase, em relação aos atributos do solo. Este estudo buscou analisar alguns atributos morfológicos, químicos e físicos em um perfil de gleissolo situado em uma vereda do município de São Desidério (oeste da Bahia) que contribui diretamente para as nascentes do rio Grande, importante afluente do Rio São Francisco. Para tanto, foi aberta uma trincheira, e o perfil de solo foi descrito morfologicamente e amostras foram coletadas para realização de análises granulométrica, de densidade de partículas, do teor de matéria orgânica e pH. Verificou-se a predominância de areia em todo o perfil. Mas, a distribuição das areias não é homogênea, com aumento da areia fina no horizonte intermediário. O teor de matéria orgânica na superfície é bem elevado, chegando a 8,35 % no horizonte A e o pH é inferior 5 em todo o perfil. Os resultados apontam indícios que o material no entorno da vereda pode ter sido trazido por fluxos hídricos. Este estudo tem um caráter de investigação preliminar, uma vez que se faz necessária à coleta e análise de um número maior de amostras de solo, para que se tenha uma maior representatividade sobre a dinâmica da vereda.ABSTRACT:Researches about the soils in vereda’s environments have been highlighted, once the biological aspects, like the kind of vegetation associated with it, has always been emphasized related to the soil attributes. This study aimed to analyze some physical, chemical and morphological attributes in a gleysol profile in São Desidério City (western Bahia) that directly contributes for the sources of the Grande River, an important affluent of the São Francisco River. For that, a trench was opened, the soil profile was morphologically described, and samples were collected for analysis of: granulometry, particles density, organic matter content and pH. It was verified the predominance of sand all over the profile. However, the sands distribution is not homogenous, increasing the fine sand on the intermediate horizon. The organic matter content on the surface is very high reaching up to 8.35% on the horizon A, and the pH is less than 5 throughout the whole profile. The results show that the materials around the vereda may have been brought by flows of water. This study has a character of preliminary investigation, once it is necessary to collect and analyze a higher number of soil samples, in order to get more representability about the vereda dynamics.Keywords: Permeability; Hydromorphic Soils; Textural Discontinuity
