Housing production, inequality and socioespacial segregation: an analysis from the program my house my life in the city of Castanhal, Pará | Geosaberes
Abstract
Both inequality and socio-spatial segregation are processes that spatially combine and reveal existing conflicts in the contemporary city. In this sense, this article aims to analyze the housing production in Castanhal from the PMCMV and its expression in terms of socio-spatial inequalities and related socio-spatial processes. For this purpose, a survey and bibliographic analysis, field research, semi-structured interviews, qualitative systematic observations and photographic records were used. It was verified that the implantation of the PMCMV, by stimulating an unequal social division of space, contributed to the formation of new territorial configurations, as well as to ratification of inequality and socio-spatial segregation patterns in the urban space of Castanhal.
