Exposure swamps are regional subunits that are of great importance to the local community, reaching regional relevance, both in the production of produce and water supply. In the municipality of Brejo da Madre de Deus, located in the Agreste mesoregion and in the Vale do Ipojuca microregion of the State of Pernambuco, a vast area of strategic geoenvironmental importance to the Agreste Central de Pernambuco. This swamp is considered an Exposure Swamp and represents an area of moisture exception in the regional semiarid. This work aimed to describe and analyze, in general, the main characteristics of this exception area, highlighting the climatic, geological, geomorphological, pedological and phytogeographic conditions.
