O presente texto constitui uma introdução para as questões que abordam a tradição tupiguarani. A escolha dos temas que tratam da expansão dos Tupi-Guarani pelo território brasileiro e da correlação entre família linguística e tradição cerâmica pretendeu montar um cenário teórico, partindo dos modelos e hipóteses de alguns autores que trataram do assunto, e do quadro cronológico e espacial, usando como base as datações absolutas e alguns dados da etno-história. EXPANSION OF TUPI-GUARANI IN BRASILIAN TERRITORY: CORRELATION BETWEEN LANGUAGE FAMILY AND CERAMIC TRADITION Abstract This text is constituted as an introduction to the issues according with the tradition Tupiguarani. The choice of the expansion of the Tupi-Guarani in Brazilian territory as the theme, as well as the correlation between linguistic and family pottery tradition, intended to make a scenario starting from the theoretical models and hypotheses of some authors on the subject, and chronological and spatial framework, using absolute dating based on the data and some of the ethno-history.
