A organização de catadores deve viabilizar a construção de políticas públicas de reciclagem e coleta seletiva do lixo como alternativa para gerar renda, propiciando a inserção social dos grupos marginalizados. O objetivo da presente pesquisa consiste na elaboração de estudos para a implantação de uma Associação de catadores no município de Regente Feijó. Para tanto, foram realizados o diagnóstico ambiental de resíduos e levantamentos socioeconômicos, houve a formação de equipes de trabalho para atuar na implantação da organização, além do desenvolvimento de projetos de educação ambiental, a fim de dinamizar a coleta seletiva. Nesse contexto, a experiência na UGRHI-22 Pontal do Paranapanema mostra que, ao se compararem as informações levantadas em Regente Feijó com informações obtidas em demais municípios com características semelhantes e que possuem organização de catadores, é possível desenvolver trabalhos em Associação no município, de forma a englobar esses catadores, proporcionando-lhes melhores condições de trabalho e de vida. Palavras-Chave: Catadores, Associação, Resíduos, Regente Feijó, Organização ESTUDY FOR DEPLOYMENT OF AN COLLECTORS ASSOCIATION IN REGENTE FEIJÓ CITY - STATE OF SÃO PAULO Abstract The recycling workers organization should make possible the construction of public politics of recycling and selective collection of the garbage as alternative to generate income, propitiating the social insert of the marginalized groups. In that sense, the objective of the present research consists of the elaboration of studies for the implantation of a recycling workers’ association in Regent Feijó. Like this, they were accomplished the environmental diagnosis of residues and socioeconomic risings, there was the formation of work teams to act in the implantation of the organization, besides the development of projects of environmental education, in order to stimulate the selective collection. In that context, the experience in UGRHI-22 Pontal of Paranapanema shows that, if it will be compared the lifted up information in Regent Feijó to the one of the other municipal districts with similar characteristics and that possess recycling workers’ organization, it is possible to develop works in Association in the municipal district, in way to include those recycling workers, providing them best work and life conditions.
