Este artigo apresenta o estudo dos vestígios líticos lascados coletados em superfície, nas áreas dos Sítios Arqueológicos Turvo I, Turvo II, Turvo III, Turvo IV ou Guariroba e Turvo V, bem como nas Áreas de Ocorrência Arqueológica, Turvo II, Turvo III e Turvo IV, localizados nos Municípios de Cardoso e Pontes Gestal, SP, na região da Bacia Hidrográfica do Rio Turvo. O estudo demonstra que a região foi ocupada por grupos agricultores-ceramistas, que produziram a cerâmica associada à Tradição Aratu. A pesquisa buscou estudar o material lítico lascado, por meio da noção de cadeia operatória, associando fatores culturais aos ambientais. LITHIC VARIABILITY OF TURVOS ARCHEOLOGICAL SITES IN THE CONTEXT OF ARATU TRADITION Abstract This article presents a study about chipped lithic traces collected from surface, in the surroundings of the following Archeological Sites: Turvo I, Turvo II, Turvo III, Turvo IV or Guariroba and Turvo V, as well as in Archeological Occurence Areas Turvo II, Turvo III and Turvo IV, situated in Cardoso and Pontes Gestal cities, both in the state of São Paulo, in the region of Drainage Basin of Turvo River. The research points out that the region was occupied by groups of agricultural ceramicists, who produced pottery associated with Aratu tradition. The research aimed to study the chipped lithic material using operational chains, putting together cultural and environmental aspects.
