Neste estudo, objetivamos analisar alguns elementos que condicionam a reprodução social e apermanência dos camponeses no projeto de assentamento João Batista II. Para tanto,discutiremos algumas variáveis, sendo elas: as condições de produção, a comercialização e aorganização político-social. A reprodução camponesa e a permanência na área doassentamento estão condicionadas a capacidade de equacionar e gerir os conflitos internosentre as associações, bem como, superar as limitações em termos de produção agropecuária ede comercialização. Na condução de nossa pesquisa, utilizamos uma revisão bibliográficasobre a temática e a leitura das relações que se estabelecem no território do assentamento,evidenciando as variáveis mencionadas. Ainda como parte da pesquisa, realizamos entrevistassemi-estruturadas, e trabalhos de campo no local, no período de janeiro a julho de 2011.Palavras - chave: Camponês, Assentamentos rurais, território, produção, comercialização.SOCIAL REPRODUCTION AND STAY ON THE FIELD-A STUDY IN LAYINGJOÃO BATISTA II CASTANHAL – PARÁAbstractIn this study, we aimed at analyzingsome factors affecting social reproduction andpermanence of the peasants in the settlement project João Batista II. Therefore, we willdiscuss some variables, namely: the conditions of production, marketing and political socialorganization. The peasant reproduction and permanence in the area of the settlement areconditioned to equate capacity and manage internal conflicts amongassociations, as well asovercome the limitations in terms of agricultural production and marketing. In conducting ourresearch, we used a literature review on the subject and the reading of the relations stablishedin the in the settlementterritory, showing the variables mentioned. As part of the research, weconducted semi-structured interviews and field work at the site in the period January-July2011.
