Esse trabalho se propõe a analisar o espaço urbano da cidade de Teresina-PI, idealizado na obra Palha de Arroz, de Fontes Ibiapina, evidenciando nuances que forjaram a construção de um ambiente histórico-geográfico ímpar na sociedade teresinense do limiar do século XX. Para efetivação deste trabalho fizeram-se necessárias pesquisas bibliográficas e a compilação de produções já existentes. O estudo revelou a importância que as produções literárias ficcionais possuem no sentido do resgate da história e geografia de um espaço e também de um povo. Palavras-chave: História e Literatura.
