Abstract
A Geografia continua sendo uma disciplina científica que enfrenta graves dificuldades em ser compreendida e aceita dentro e fora da Universidade. Tratando-se de uma disciplina heterogênea com diferentes paradigmas e correntes vigentes ao mesmo tempo e uma estrutura dicotomizadora, a Geografia reflete seu ecletismo nas suas pesquisas e negligencia o possível papel do geógrafo na sociedade e no mercado de trabalho.  Abstract Geography continues as a scientific discipline that has to cope with serious problems of comprehension and recognition within and outside university. As a heterogeneous discipline with different dominating paradigms and thoughts at the same time, Geography reflects its eclecticism in its research and neglects the discussion about the possible role of the geographer in society and on the labor market.
