Abstract: Neste trabalho serão abordadas as principais alterações ambientais dos manguezais do rio cocó, na cidade de Fortaleza, que vem sofrendo pelas ações naturais e humanas ou pela conjugação de ambas. O principal objetivo é diagnosticar a problemática ambiental e sugerir propostas de manejo adequado, para que se tenha uma boa qualidade de vida da população local. Palavras-chave: Manguezal. Abstract This study approaches the main environmental alteration in the Cocó river fenland, situated in Fortaleza city, which has been suffering with natural and/or human forces. The main objectives of this study are to diagnose the environmental problems and to propose alternative approaches for the handling of this land, which would improve the quality of life of the local population.
