Entre os muitos desafios que se colocam à didática da geografia nos sistemas de ensino está presente a apreensão do(s) método(s) de ensino e o uso das técnicas e tecnologias para a leitura e representação do conteúdo geográfico. Esses, ora são veiculados manifestando reduções na mediação pedagógica que se (re) constrói, cotidianamente, na sala de aula, ora são negligenciados numa despolitização total, conseqüentemente, empobrecendo a educação geográfica materializada na sociedade a qual deveria nortear o exercício da cidadania. O presente artigo apresenta uma aproximação do tema no processo didáticopedagógico da geografia escolar enfatizando a funcionalidade das geotecnologias para a apreensão e apropriação do conhecimento e do espaço geográfico. ABSTRACT Among the many challenges facing the teaching of geography in education systems this is the concern (s) method (s) of education and the use of techniques and technologies for reading and representation of geographic content. They either are running showing reductions in mediation training that (re) build, daily, in the classroom, yet are neglected in a total depoliticisation thus impoverishing the education geographical material in society which should guide the exercise of citizenship. This article presents an approximation of the subject teaching process in-school teaching of geography emphasizing the functionality of the geo for the seizure and appropriation of knowledge and geographical space.
