O texto possui como objetivo apresentar como é estabelecido a pedagogia das competências no Brasil e as implicações para o ensino de Geografia. Para isso são apresentados os fatores sociais que ajudam a promover o ensino centrado nas competências e sua implementação no currículo nacional durante o período que compreende desde a década de 1990 até o atual momento. São discutidos ainda como ocorre uma significativa exigência de cumprimento do currículo articulando-o as avaliações externas. O ensino de Geografia acaba por assumir em grande medida as opções curriculares que lhes são apresentadas. Recorrendo a pesquisas nacionais e internacionais este artigo busca contribuir na interpretação dos significado da pedagogia das competências e das interferências para o ensino de Geografia. THE PEDAGOGY OF SKILLS AND GEOGRAPHY TEACHINGABSTRACTThe text aims to present as it is established the pedagogy of the competences in Brazil and the implications for the teaching of Geography. In order to do so, we present the social factors that help promote competency-centered education and its implementation in the national curriculum during the period from the 1990s to the present. It is also discussed how a significant requirement of compliance with the curriculum articulates external evaluations. The teaching of geography ends up assuming to a large extent the curricular options that are presented to them. Using national and international research, this article seeks to contribute to the interpretation of the meaning of the pedagogy of skills and interference for the teaching of Geography.
