Resumo
A abertura dos mercados e o advento de técnicas flexíveis de produção geraram possibilidades de investimento urbano. A metropolização de Fortaleza, capital do estado do Ceará, resulta de mudanças na sua base produtiva em virtude da dinâmica industrial e de novas áreas de centralidade. O objetivo deste trabalho é analisar as características da policentralidade na capital cearense, por isso a investigação contou com revisão bibliográfica, coleta de dados estatísticos e organização de hemeroteca digital. Conclui que a atual dinâmica metropolitana consiste numa reestruturação do espaço em virtude da criação de receptáculos de rentabilidade que centralizam investimentos públicos e privados.

ABSTRACT:
The opening of markets and the advent of flexible production techniques generated urban investment opportunities. The metropolization of Fortaleza, capital of the state of Ceará, results of changes in its productive base due to industrial dynamics and new areas of centrality. The objective of this study is to analyze the characteristics of polycentrality in the capital of Ceará state, so the research included a literature review, collection of statistical data and organization of digital newspaper library. It concludes that the current metropolitan dynamics is a restructuring of the space by the establishment of profitability receptacles that centralize public and private investments.
