RESUMO:Este artigo realiza uma análise do setor portuário de Sergipe e Alagoas, em especial, do Terminal Marítimo Inácio Barbosa (TMIB), localizado em Barra dos Coqueiros/SE, e do Porto de Jaraguá (Maceió/AL), considerando as modernizações relativas, os investimentos públicos e privados e os pontos de estrangulamento existentes. Fomentar a atividade portuária (infraestruturas, instalações, equipamentos, tecnologias de informação e comunicação, softwares etc.) é relevante para estimular a dinâmica regional, todavia, os dois estados possuem um sistema portuário pouco dinâmico (subinvestido). O transporte de cabotagem e longo curso realizado pelos dois portos constituem redes e fluxos de cargas e articulam, respectivamente, o território nacional e o Brasil a outros países.Palavras-chave: Setor Portuário; Infraestruturas; Fluxos; Cargas; Desenvolvimento Regional.ABSTRACT:This article presents an analysis of the port sector of Sergipe and Alagoas, in particular the Inácio Barbosa Maritime Terminal (TMIB), located in Barra dos Coqueiros/SE, and the Port of Jaraguá (Maceió/AL), considering the relative modernization, public and private investments and the existing bottlenecks. Foment port activity (infrastructures, installations, equipment, information and communication technologies, software etc.) is relevant to stimulate regional dynamics, however, the two states have a little dynamic (underinvestment) port system. The cabotage and long course transport carried out by the two ports constitute networks and cargo flows and articulate, respectively, the national territory and Brazil to other countries.Keywords: Port Sector; Infrastructures; Flows; Cargoes; Regional Development.
