Este estudo objetivou identificar importantes aspectos socioeconômicos e entender a dinâmica da agricultura familiar no contexto nacional, serviram como base de dados de pesquisa os artigos disponibilizados pela CAPES durante o período de 2011 a 2015. Verificou-se a grande dependência da Agricultura Familiar de ações governamentais, instituídas para a resolução de problemas existentes ou manutenção em determinadas áreas, possibilitando o controle para que fiquem dentro de níveis aceitáveis, essas ações são efetivadas através das políticas públicas, identificando barreiras que dificultam a transformação do agricultor familiar em empreendedor rural no contexto brasileiro. O estudo aponta que os estabelecimentos familiares estão vinculados a regiões diversas, com características distintas, porem todos fornecem informações que vinculam o agricultor familiar a um negócio, necessitando de desempenho econômico e depende do mercado, foram utilizadas no estudo as regiões nordeste, sudeste, centro oeste e sul; conclui-se a necessidade da manutenção das políticas públicas para o desenvolvimento dos agricultores familiares e sua permanência no campo, destacando-se nos periódicos o PRONAF, o PAA e o PNAE.Abstract This study aimed to identify important socioeconomic and understand the dynamics of family farming in the national context, served as a research database items available from CAPES during the period from 2011 to 2015. It was the heavy reliance of Family Farming of government actions, instituted to resolve problems or maintenance in certain areas, making it possible to control so that they are within acceptable levels, these actions are accomplished through public policies, identifying barriers to transformation of the family farmer in rural entrepreneur in the Brazilian context. The study shows that family farms are linked to different regions, with different characteristics, however all provide information linking the family farmer to a business in need of economic performance and depends on the market, it was used to study the northeast, southeast, center west and south; It concludes the need for these policies to the development of family farmers and their stay in the field, especially in the periodic PRONAF, the PAA and PNAE.
