A cada pleito eleitoral que se conclui o voto se mostra cada vez mais o resultado de uma ligação entre candidato e eleitor, quanto mais local a votação mais identitária com o território são os votos. A problemática é identificar qual a influência da identidade do candidato para com o território no comportamento dos eleitores locais (a influência da identidade territorial nas eleições). A metodologia utilizada é baseada no levantamento bibliográfico sobre o tema, como, o histórico sobre o candidato e métodos da Geografia Eleitoral para mapeamento de votos e, assim, delimitar o território identitário do candidato e sua influência no comportamento eleitoral. Para realizar este estudo de identificação territorial, delimitamos a área para a zona norte de Goiânia. A zona 146, selecionada devido ao candidato a vereador Vinicius Cirqueira obter nela mais votos em 2016. Esse candidato é morador da região e, portanto, obteve votos a partir da identificação territorial em comum com o seu eleitorado. The identity relationship between the candidate and the voter through the territory is accentuated at each election in which the vote is concluded, being more evident for municipal elections on an intra-municipal scale. The purpose of this article is to identify the infl uence of a candidate for councilman in Goiânia with the territory on the behavior of local voters, that is, the infl uence of territorial identity in municipal elections. The methodology used is based on a bibliographic survey on the theme, as well as on the candidate’s history and using methods of Electoral Geography to maps votes. Thus, it was possible to delimit the identity territory of the candidate and its infl uence on electoral behaviour. In order to carry out this territorial identifi cation study, we delimited the area to the northern zone of Goiânia, represented by zone 146. This cutout was selected due to the urban and socioeconomic diversity of the population. Vinicius Cirqueira, who is a resident of the region, is the candidate chosen as a case study, as he was the best voted candidate in Zona 146, obtaining the votes from the territorial identification in common with his electorate.
