doi: 10.12957/geouerj.2012.4817 ResumoA preocupação dos profissionais de Geografia com as questões ambientais e, em especial, com o Planejamento Ambiental e a Educação Ambiental está presente nos diferentes segmentos de ensino vigentes no país, bem como no cotidiano de nossa sociedade. No âmbito acadêmico, seja nas atividades de ensino, pesquisa ou extensão a Geografia vem sinalizando a necessidade de refletir e discutir o melhor modo de aplicar os conteúdos inerentes a Ciência Geográfica, dentre eles o de Planejamento Ambiental, e o melhor modo de manter a transversalidade do tema Educação Ambiental. O presente tem como objetivo principal identificar os parâmetros legais do planejamento ambiental e da educação ambiental nos patamares políticos do País para a compreensão do distanciamento entre a sala de aula e a complexa realidade ambiental. Desse modo poderão ser pensadas estratégias no sentido de promover a integração entre o ensino e a questão ambiental bem como discutir em que medida a geografia trabalha as estratégias de planejamento e educação ambiental dentro e fora da sala de aula.Palavras-chave: PNMA, Constituição Brasileira, PCNs, Ambiente, Cidadania.AbstractThe concern of rofessional geography with environmental issues and in particular with the Environmental Planning and Environmental Education is present in different segments of education prevailing in the country and the everyday life of our society. In the academic sphere, whether in teaching, researchor extension Geography is signaling the need to reflect and discuss how best toapply the content inherent in Geographic Science, among them the Environmental Planning and the best way to maintain the transversality Environmental Educationtheme. This has as main objective to identify the legal parameters of theenvironmental planning and environmental education in the country's politicallevels to understand the gap between the classroom and the complexenvironmental reality. Thus may be thoughtful strategies to promote integrationbetween education and environmental issues and to discuss to what extent the geography works planning strategies and environmental education inside and outside the classroom.Keywords: geography education,interdisciplinary,environment, citizenship,governance
