A dinâmica territorial do atual estado de Rondônia envolveu, assim como no Brasil de forma geral, um processo violento e desigual para seu estabelecimento. Uma grande quantidade de etnias foi exterminada e vários outros grupos foram expropriados no antigo território do Guaporé. Isto ocorreu no âmbito da busca de escravos índios e das drogas do sertão, inicialmente, e da borracha e de minérios, posteriormente. Nesse contexto, o presente trabalho tem como objetivo geral compreender a dinâmica da formação territorial do atual estado de Rondônia, entre o período colonial e a Revolução de 1930.

ABSTRACT
In the territorial dynamics of Rondônia state was involved a violent and differentiated process. A considerable number of Indian societies were exterminated e several other groups were depredated on first called Guaporé Federal Territory. This process was undertaken to seek Indian slaves and the Drogras do Sertão, at first, and the rubber and precious metals later. Considering this context, the present paper intends to comprehend the territorial formation dynamics of Rondônia state, between the colonial period and the revolution of 1930.
