Nesse artigo, propomos que o lugar Boa Vista seja analisado como tendo tido uma gênese espontânea e uma gênese induzida. A espontaneidade está relacionada a um lugar que surgiu, pioneiramente, a partir de uma complexidade genética, definida por diversos determinantes, originando o núcleo embrionário pré-existente, que foi sede municipal, a partir de 1890. A indução para o surgimento de Boa Vista, é o projeto urbanístico radial concêntrico, idealizado na década de 1940, que criou a cidade, que o poder político brasileiro idealizou para essa fronteira. Atualmente, a nova Boa Vista é composta pelo espaço que se irradiou, a partir desse projeto.

ABSTRACT
It is considered in this article that Boa Vista is a place of spontaneous and inductive gênesis. The first gênesis is related to a place that came out originally a genetic complexity, defined by different due to determiners, originating the preexisting embryonic nucleus which was the municipal headquarter since 1890. The second genesis concerns about the sprouting of Boa Vista that is a concentrical radial urban project, built in the decade of 40's that raised the city whose brazilian political power was created to this border. Nowadays, the new Boa Vista constitutes by a space that was spread from that project.
