Abstract: O trabalho tem por objetivo elucidar como os lugares são redefinidos pela ação das
grandes empresas. São destacados o exemplo da Embraer (Empresa Brasileira de
Aeronáutica S/A) e as transformações ocorridas no município de Gavião Peixoto-SP,
após a instalação de uma nova unidade da empresa no lugar.
