RELAÇÃO ENTRE O CULTIVO DE FUMO (Nicotina tabacum L.)E A PRODUÇÃO DE SEDIMENTO NA BACIA DO ARROIO BOA VISTA, GUAMIRANGA – PR
estudada.

Relationship between tobacco plantation (Nicotina tabacum L.) and sediment production in the Boa Vista Stream, Guamiranga - PR
In agricultural landscapes the erosion and sediment-nutrient redistribution are a problem to be solved. The objectives of this work were: 1) to relate the agricultural calendar dynamics on the tobacco plantation, as well as to asses its relationship with the sediment yield on agricultural watershed; 2) to evaluate the fluvial sediment transport (suspension and bedload); 3) to display a study case in the Center-South of the Parana State region; where this economic activity is important, however, it has fewer study. The methodology consisted of agricultural calendar establishments, visual appraisal with systematic fieldwork throughout the watershed during the rainy events and discharge and sediment yield measurement. The measurement was carried out between March 2003 and February 2004, in this period 46 events had been monitored. There were correlation between the agricultural calendar and the sediment production. It was verified that the tobacco tillage enhanced the soil erosion. The plant morphology and, in particular, the constant topsoil ploughing, also with furrow formation facilitates both; detachment and particle transport. Finally, the farmland connection through, pathways, corridor and roads extend the sediment transfer into fluvial canal.
