ENCHENTES NO RIO GRANDE DO SUL DO SÉCULO XXI (the floods in Rio Grande do Sul during 21th century)
Abstract

ABSTRACT
In
Rio Grande do Sul, the floods are natural phenomena in the known
population, in particular those that inhabit the valleys of major rivers
in the State. The objective of this research concerned to identify the
disturbed currents and weather types responsible for the genesis of
floods in three Hidrographic Basins regions in the State, between the
years 2000 and 2011. Methodology was applied based on the rhythm of
Climate. Accordingly, it was observed that most of the flooding occurred
due to climatic cycles in which there was the participation of the
stationary front and cyclogenesis with time and types of fields inherent
to such systems.
Key words: Floods; Hidrographic Basins regions; Disturbed currents; Weather types.
